Introduction
Client had elevator management platform that measures the servicing performance of all lifts and escalators by the service provider.
Problem
Prior to the development of the new platform, the source data at the client’s disposal was scattered across complex Excel spreadsheets stored in various online directories. Generating reports for clients was a time-consuming process, often requiring hours of manual work as data had to be gathered from multiple sources. Moreover, there was a pressing need to minimize human error, as engineers heavily relied on intricate VBA functions to compile these reports. In light of these challenges, the client approached Genolis in search of a streamlined solution that would reduce report preparation time and mitigate the risk of human error. Additionally, the solution needed to be scalable to accommodate the company’s significant growth and the regular onboarding of new clients. Understanding these requirements, we delivered a robust application that consolidated data, automated report generation, and ensured scalability for future expansion. By eliminating manual efforts and enhancing accuracy, we provided the client with an efficient and reliable system that improved productivity and catered to their growing needs.
Our Solution
Through collaboration with our client, we utilized Azure to seamlessly import and transform data from multiple Excel sources into the platform. Additionally, we developed a user-friendly web administration module with a modern interface, enabling our clients to efficiently manage client assets, configure data, and monitor system performance. To ensure data security and scalability, we stored all information in a cloud-based SQL server within Azure’s database. This centralized database became the sole data source for generating Power BI reports, providing valuable insights and analytics. Our comprehensive solution simplified data management, enhanced system usability, and facilitated informed decision-making for our clients.
